Get to know the area

Located approx. 44km west of Melbourne, between Melton in the north and Wyndham to the south, Eynesbury is a developing township on the Werribee River. The traditional owners of the land are the Wadawurrung People, while the first European settlers were the Staughton family in 1841 from the town of the same name in the UK just north of London. They settled on 101,000 acres, with a 30,600-acre subdivision creating the township of Melton in 1852. Some 20 years later, it was further divided to create Exford, Nerowie and Staughton Vale.
