Years in the real estate industry?
How did you get your start as a real estate agent?
I was given my first job as a salesperson in Sydney with a company who gave me the foundations that have held me in good stead throughout my career to this day.
Favourite parts about the business?
The constant variations of clients and properties. Everyone has a different story.
Do you have any mentors who helped shape your career?
So many along the way and a wonderful mix of people both in and out of the real estate industry.
Can you share some advice for female agents starting out in the industry?
Believe in yourself. Be assertive, not aggressive. Integrity is everything. But most importantly enjoy the work and have fun - we are truly privileged to do what we do.
What has surprised you most about your career in property?
The industry has changed so much since I began 25 years ago. There are so many different paths now that you can follow and embrace no matter what stage of life you’re in. The constant evolution with technology is creating new ways of marketing and communications that benefit clients from all spectrums of property.
Top tip and final words?
Finally, don’t take rejection too hard. It’s not personal, it’s business. Just keep improving.
